<p>For an international Food Ingredients Distributor working in Europe and Africa we are looking for the</p>
<p><strong>Bakery &amp; Confectionery Application Technologist m/f/d*</strong></p>
<p><em>Applications include chocolate, coatings, compounds, baked goods (including</em></p>
<p><em>savoury snacks), bakery enzymes, confectionery (e.g., gummies, dragees,</em></p>
<p><em>candies), fine bakery glazes, fillings, bars)</em></p>
<ul>
<li>The Application Technologist serves as our expert in both the theoretical and practical aspects of a specific application area.</li>
<li>This role plays a pivotal part in identifying market trends and translating them into recipes, concepts, and campaigns.</li>
<li>The Application Technologist develops expertise in new ingredients, explores their synergies with other components, and creates application-focused knowledge.</li>
<li>Additionally, the Technologist design and deliver application training programs and client seminars.</li>
<li>The Application Technologist act as the primary point of contact for our Technical Sales Managers (TSMs) requiring application support to advance key projects.</li>
</ul>
<p>Location: can be home office based, Western or Eastern Europe</p>
<h2 id="tasks">Tasks</h2>
<p><strong>1. Technical Support and Development</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop out concepts, campaigns, and recipes by leveraging a wide range of our ingredients while tailoring recipes and processes to align with local preferences and capabilities.</li>
<li>Provide technical support on ingredients, formulations, processes, and applications for selected key projects (as designated by the SBM) to enhance service levels and deliver added value.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>2. Training and Knowledge Sharing</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Enhance the technical expertise of TSMs by designing and conducting training programs (focused on applications or ingredients) and supplying in-depth technical insights.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other Application Technologists and SBMs to identify and emphasize global trends.</li>
<li>Document and disseminate learnings from case studies, industrial trials, ingredient testing, and similar initiatives.</li>
<li>Create and share value propositions for selected new and existing ingredients.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>3. Client Interaction and Trials</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Design trial protocols and provide technical expertise for client visits our labs</li>
<li>Visit and support key clients, conducting trials at their facilities to advance critical projects. </li>
<li>Deliver high-level technical support in close collaboration with, and under the guidance of, the sales team.4. Supplier and Regulatory Engagement</li>
<li>Maintain direct engagement with the laboratories and technical service teams of suppliers to stay updated on the latest ingredient developments.</li>
<li>Assess and provide recommendations regarding new suppliers or ingredients.</li>
<li>Stay informed on EU regulatory and labeling requirements.</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="requirements">Requirements</h2>
<ul>
<li>Degree in Food Technology or a comparable field, with 5+ years of experience in production or product development.</li>
<li>Alternatively, vocational high school certification with 20+ years of experience in product development across a broad range of ingredients in relevant segments.</li>
<li>In-depth technological expertise in application areas within covered segments.</li>
<li>Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments.</li>
<li>Commitment to offering solutions and working with value-added ingredients.</li>
<li>A creative, innovative mindset with a proven ability to think outside the box.</li>
<li>Strong communication, proactivity, analytical thinking, and a supportive approach.</li>
<li>Excellent English proficiency.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel (approximately 60%, including regular presence in our labs</li>
</ul>
