All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who The Client Is</strong>: The client is a Brisbane-based supplier of high-quality landscaping products and materials, catering to both DIY enthusiasts and professional landscapers. They offer a wide range of items including retaining walls, fencing, garden supplies, paving, turf, and tools. With a strong focus on durability, aesthetics, and sustainability, they work closely with manufacturers to provide eco-friendly and innovative solutions. Known for their exceptional customer service and industry expertise, they aim to build long-term relationships based on trust and product reliability.</p><p><strong>Role Overview:</strong> We're hiring an experienced Accountant (4–6 years in Australian accounting) with expertise in payroll, BAS, financial reporting, and proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks. Simpro experience is a plus. You'll ensure accurate records, timely compliance, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Payroll Processing</li> <ul> <li>Prepare and process end-to-end payroll for Australian employees (weekly/fortnightly/monthly).</li> <li>Manage superannuation contributions, PAYG withholding, and leave entitlements.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations and ATO requirements.<br> </li> </ul> <li>BAS &amp; Compliance</li> <ul> <li>Prepare and lodge accurate Business Activity Statements (BAS) and IAS.</li> <li>Reconcile GST, PAYG, and other tax liabilities.</li> <li>Assist with year-end compliance including coordination with external accountants/auditors.<br> </li> </ul> <li>Bookkeeping &amp; Accounting</li> <ul> <li>Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero and QuickBooks.</li> <li>Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.</li> <li>Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.<br> </li> </ul> <li>Financial Reporting</li> <ul> <li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.</li> <li>Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.</li> <li>Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.<br> </li> </ul> <li>Systems &amp; Software</li> <ul> <li>Utilize Xero and QuickBooks for all accounting functions.</li> <li>Work with Simpro to manage job costing, project profitability, and workflow integration.</li> <li>Maintain and streamline accounting processes and systems.<br> </li> </ul> </ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li> <li>4–6 years of hands-on accounting experience in the Australian market.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, and Simpro.</li> <li>Proven experience in payroll, BAS preparation, and financial reporting.</li> <li>Understanding of Australian tax laws, ATO regulations, and Fair Work standards.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.</li> <li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li> </ul>
