Job Summary:
The Electro – Mechanical Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery while also performing advanced industrial electrical tasks such as troubleshooting and repair work. This is a key role within the operation, ensuring efficient production with minimal downtime.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Operate, set-up, and adjust production machinery and equipment for optimal performance.
· Monitor machine operation, perform quality checks, and make minor repairs or adjustments as needed to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
· Install, maintain, and repair electrical components and systems on industrial machinery, including control panels, motors, sensors, and wiring.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in machinery, taking corrective action to minimize downtime.
· Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment including PLC systems.
· Inspecting electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches, to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics for both mechanical and electrical systems.
· Perform preventative maintenance on both mechanical and electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
· Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and machine operation logs.
· Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and support process improvements.
· Recommend and implement process or equipment improvements to enhance productivity and reliability.
· Documenting all electrical work performed, including repairs, installations, maintenance activities, and PLC related programming changes.
· Keeping abreast of advancements in PLC technology and continuously improving skills to enhance system performance.
· All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong technical background, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, PLC programming, and automation principles.
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to skin care packaging manufacturing is a plus.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma.
- Licensed Electrician.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working within the manufacturing industry with PLC technology, preferably in packaging.
Physical Requirements:
Working within a manufacturing plant may require standing and walking for prolonged periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
