We’re growing fast and want you to be a part of it! We’re seeking a talented, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team remotely. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Lead this role will be responsible for assisting with surplus lines tax payment, reporting, and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Accurately complete state regulatory surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments, ensuring compliance and timeliness</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Analyze and optimize accounting processes, implementing controls to improve efficiency and accuracy</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Manage credits and refunds for clients in Surplus Lines, resolving issues promptly</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Assist with the development and maintenance of training and reference materials, including refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support team effectiveness</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Deliver excellent customer service, building and sustaining strong relationships with states, clients, and internal teams</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state trust laws and accounting compliance regulations to ensure adherence across all processes</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Prepare reports and summaries for clients, translating data into clear, actionable insights</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned</li></ul>Requirements and Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">1+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience required</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Previous experience in surplus lines and/or the insurance industry preferred</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Solid understanding of general accounting functions with the ability to maintain confidentiality</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Proficiency in Office and Adobe suites, with an emphasis on Excel</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software preferred</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment, delivering accurate work with a customer-focused mindset</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Self-motivated with the ability to problem-solve effectively while meeting deadlines</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members</li></ul>Perks<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Health, dental, and vision plans</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">10 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">401K Programs with employer match</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life</li></ul> Why InsCipher?
