Overview:
OlleyaHealth is developing a next-generation AI platform to support accurate CPT coding, reduce claim denials, and improve audit readiness for U.S.-based healthcare providers. We are seeking a consultant, based in the United States, to lead and guide the AI/machine learning approach in partnership with our technical and coding teams located offshore.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and advise on the development of AI/ML models for medical coding automation and claim audit tools
• Work closely with engineers and coders in Bangalore/Mumbai who will manage day-to-day implementation and data handling
• Help design training data pipelines, develop annotation strategies, and validate outputs using real EHR and claims datasets
• Translate healthcare reimbursement and coding knowledge into structured input for model development
• Collaborate with a certified India-based medical coder to align outputs with current billing standards
Requirements:
• Based in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, data science, health informatics, biomedical engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical coding automation, AI-driven medical claims processing, or related ML/NLP work in healthcare
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and U.S. healthcare reimbursement systems
• Proficiency in Python and experience working with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn)
• Experience using or integrating with OpenAI, LLMs, or other generative AI tools for document understanding or code prediction tasks
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate work across distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience building or auditing AI/NLP tools that support clinical documentation, medical coding, or claims auditing
• Working knowledge of EHR data formats (e.g., SOAP notes, HL7, FHIR) and payer claim files
• Experience using vector databases, embeddings, and fine-tuning LLMs

• Contract duration: Initial 4 months with potential extension
