You will work closely with the VFX Art Director and creative leads to produce compelling visuals that guide the production of our film.   Job Functions<div style="border-left:none 1pt;padding:0in 0in 0in 7pt;margin-left:24px;"><ul><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Collaborate with the VFX Art Director to conceptualize and/or iterate on key visual beats and themes throughout the film.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Starting from storyboards, 2D concept art, or rough pre-vis models, develop and create visually stunning key art that aligns with the film’s visual style and narrative.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Render high-quality key images to provide various VFX departments (Enviro, Lighting, FX, Comp) with realistic and applicable production ready targets.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Use 2D software to refine production images and/or elements into practical production ready targets.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Work closely with the production team to ensure deliverables meet fast- paced delivery schedules.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and reviews to provide creative input and feedback.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Communicate effectively with supervisors and department leads to ensure alignment of visual goals and project timelines.  </li></ul></div>Qualifications <div style="border-left:none 1pt;padding:0in 0in 0in 7pt;margin-left:19px;"><ul><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">3+ years’ experience as a Visual Development Artist/Concept Artist, preferably in the VFX or film industry.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality visual development and key art pieces.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Excellent understanding of color theory, lighting, composition, and visual storytelling.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and realism.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Experience working with reference data, renders, photos, HDRIs, and photogrammetry.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Ability to work collaboratively in an extremely fast-paced, creative environment.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Strong time-management skills.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Proficiency in 3D modeling, sculpting, and rendering software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Terragen, World Creator, Gaea, ZBrush is required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, is preferred.  </li></ul><div style="border:none;padding:0in;">Preferred Skills:  </div><ul><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Strong photography portfolio.  </li><li style="border:none;padding:0in;">Experience in traditional art forms such as drawing, sculpting, or painting.</li></ul></div>Additional information<ul><li>British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $45 - $65 (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)</li><li>Zoic does not cover relocation costs.</li><li>Any and all WFH positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.</li><li>This job description contains the basic requirements for the position and is NOT intended to be a complete list of responsibilities; other duties may be assigned.</li><li>Due to the volume of applications, we receive, we regret that only those selected to interview will be contacted.</li></ul>
