<h3>The role  </h3>
We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong background in data engineering, ideally with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and BigQuery. The ideal candidate will have solid proficiency in SQL and Python, along with familiarity in moving and transforming data across cloud-based data zones and streaming pipelines (ETL/ELT). Comfort with cloud services, data management, automation tools, and real-time data processing is essential. 
Role responsibilities
 
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate deep knowledge of the data engineering domain to build and support non-interactive (batch, distributed) and real-time, highly available data pipelines, using technologies like Apache Beam (Google Cloud Dataflow), Google Pub/Sub, and Databricks </li>
<li>Build fault-tolerant, self-healing, adaptive, and highly accurate streaming and batch data pipelines on GCP  </li>
<li>Design and implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines leveraging Google Cloud Dataflow / Apache Beam and  BigQuery for analytics and large-scale querying </li>
<li>Provide consultation and lead the implementation of complex data solutions across multiple platforms </li>
<li>Develop and maintain technical documentation for all assigned systems and projects </li>
<li>Tune queries running over billions of rows of data in distributed query engines like BigQuery and Spark </li>
<li>Perform root cause analysis to identify and implement permanent resolutions for software or business process issues </li>
<li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, availability, and reliability across cloud environments </li>

<li>Google Cloud Dataflow / Apache Bean – for ETL/ELT pipelines </li>
<li>Databricks workspace, jobs/workflows, clusters, and notebooks </li>
<li>Building ETL/ELT pipelines across data zones (raw to processed) </li>
<li>Using the Databricks REST API for automation and system integration </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills </li>
<li>Ability to work independently in a remote team environment </li>
</ul>
 
<h3>Nice to have qualifications  </h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics)   </li>
<li>Working knowledge of cloud architecture components (especially GCP, but also Azure or AWS) </li>
<li>Familiarity with visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.  </li>
<li>Proficiency in big data environments and tools such as Spark, Hive, Impala, Pig, etc. </li>
<li>Proficiency with data pipeline software such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or Prefect  </li>
<li>Familiarity with front and back-end web application stacks and frameworks (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React/Vue/AngularJS) and  API design and usage (REST/GraphQL)   </li>
<li>Experience leading and managing technical data/analytics/machine learning projects  </li>
</ul>
