About the position
The University of California Office of the President (UCOP) is seeking a Project Policy Analyst 3 for a temporary position within its Temporary Office of the President Staffing (TOPS) program. This role is based in Oakland, CA, and is designed to provide essential support to various UCOP departments by assisting with special projects, covering for employees on leave, and providing temporary staffing during recruitment periods. The TOPS program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain valuable experience within the UC system, with assignments that can last from one month to two years, depending on departmental needs. As a Project Policy Analyst 3, the selected candidate will work closely with the Regents Office, primarily focusing on the scheduling and calendaring of Regents meetings. This position requires acting as a liaison between the Regents and senior administration, including UCOP, chancellors, and Principal Officers. The analyst will manage complex schedules, coordinate meeting materials, and ensure timely communication regarding meeting statuses and agendas. The role demands strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information. Responsibilities
• Work with the Regents Office on a variety of matters, most significantly the calendaring and scheduling of Regents.

• Act as a liaison between Regents and senior administration (UCOP, chancellors, and Principal Officers) on behalf of the Secretary and Chief of Staff as requested.

• Manage schedules, which includes complex calendaring, in addition to meeting and travel planning.

• Coordinate meeting materials and other information from other departments and track to ensure completion with sufficient time for appropriate Regent(s) to review prior to meetings.

• Provide the status of scheduled meetings and phone calls, including the purpose and organizer of meetings or calls, agendas, etc.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
