Job description: The Instructional Designer/Trainer position reports to the Director of Learning & Development. This position is responsible for designingonline training courses, instructor-led virtual and in-person training, identifying methodologies to be used to deliver content and organizing the content and flow of information using storyboarding techniques.

Responsibilities also include facilitating training sessions via classroom instruction and online instruction/support tools, incorporating a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate adult learning styles.

Responsibilities
• Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.
• Plan and manage course design anddevelopment projects
• Identify instructional end goals and create content that matches them
• Design, and develop learning and delivery strategies including leader guides, participant guides, learning activities, job-aids, storyboards, video scripts, design documents, video learning modules, pre-work, post-work and train-the-trainer materials to facilitate learning, promote behavioral change, and drive organizational performance goals by applying sound instructional design and practices while accommodating adult learning styles.
• Create and maintain engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
• Create and maintain supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, learning activities, etc.)
• Develop storyboards and work with courseware developers, voice over artists, and subject matter experts to produce online self-paced courses/videos
• Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments
• Work with the LMS Administrator to set up course offerings
• Conduct Train the Trainer and pilot sessions
• Facilitate both online and classroom training
• Act as a backup for Training Specialists by facilitating both online and classroom training as needed
• Maintain project documentation and course folders
• Perform quality check of produced course content
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to work across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated experience in design and delivery of successful training programs
• Effective project management skills to organize training projects and to ensure quality
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of rapid authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia,) and a sound editing tool (Audacity).
• Hands on working experience with a Learning Management System - Success Factors or Litmos is a plus
• Detail oriented
• Self-starter; highly motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them in a very fast-paced manner
• Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent certifications and work experience
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in instructional design
• Minimum 5 years experience in facilitation

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $53,300 - $88,800, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
