<p><b><u>Compliance Operations:</u></b></p><p>The Compliance Assistant plays an integral role within organizations, ensuring that business operations and procedures meet the established standards and regulatory requirements. This position supports the Compliance Team in monitoring and auditing company activities, assisting in the development and implementation of compliance programs, and helping to educate staff on compliance policies and procedures.. This role serves as a foundational support system in the maintenance of organizational integrity and the promotion of a compliant business environment.</p><p></p><p>Reporting to the Compliance Director, the Compliance Assistant is responsible for supporting the Compliance Team and assisting the Compliance Director in meeting the compliance standards set by U.S. Urology Partners.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Essential Functions:</u></b></p><ul><li>Assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures to ensure they align with local, state, and federal regulations.</li><li>Support compliance review of company procedures to identify potential compliance concerns or breaches.</li><li>Assist in template management, support of administrative updates, document management and reporting in the compliance software systems</li><li>Coordinate and schedule meetings and training sessions for committees, provider educations and associates on compliance standards, ethical conduct, and regulatory requirements, and provider educations.</li><li>Create various compliance reports.</li><li>Assist in the review, dissemination and storage of contracts, and other documents within DocuSign and the compliance software.</li><li>Maintain malpractice case updates and tracking spreadsheet.</li><li>Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulatory landscapes to assist in the proactive adjustment of company policies and procedures, excluding the duty of staying updated.</li><li>Performs research for numerous compliance scenarios.</li><li>Develop training materials for use in education and communication .</li><li>Other duties as needed to support the compliance department.</li></ul><p><b><u>Other Functions:</u></b></p><ul><li>Position requires an individual with expertise in health information as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Adherence to internal compliance schedule and other deadlines is necessary.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Qualifications:</u></b></p><ul><li>Experience with using and navigating through an electronic medical record system.</li><li>Knowledge of state, federal, local, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to healthcare compliance.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to work independently in an organized, detailed manner while maintaining a collaborative team environment is required.</li><li>Ability to think abstractly and concretely required.</li><li>Ability to develop reports, presentations, and spreadsheets required.</li><li>Strong computer skills including the ability to effectively use software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet Explorer are required.</li><li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required.</li><li>Experience in handling complex organizational projects and excellent problem identification and solution skill to address difficult, complex issues is required.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b><u>Minimum Requirements</u></b></p><p>Bachelor's degree in health administration, health information management, or another related field preferred.</p><p></p><p></p><p><b><u>Experience</u></b></p><p>Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare compliance, healthcare operations, coding and/or documentation auditing in a healthcare organization is preferred.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Work Hours: </u></b></p><p>This is a remote position, typical work hours for the Compliance Assistant will be Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with a half-hour meal break. When normal business hours are extended due to practice needs the Compliance Assistant may be requested to provide coverage.</p><p> Candidate must be located in the United States and be willing to travel as needed.</p><p></p><p><b>Working Conditions:</b></p><p>Work is normally performed in an office setting and requires prolonged sitting.</p><p></p><p><b>Physical Demands:</b></p><p>Physical requirements needed to perform the job are eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
