About the position

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) offers a unique opportunity for students through its Year-Round Internship program, specifically within the LISCC Recovery and Resolution division. This internship is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate and graduate students who are considering careers in fields such as economics, finance, accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by integrating academic studies with practical, project-related work experience, students can acquire the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a competitive global job market. Internships at the Board are paid positions, with compensation based on the number of credit hours. The internship can be conducted in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid format, depending on the needs of the team. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university, with the intention of returning to their studies after the internship. Each intern will receive a syllabus or research project plan that outlines their projects and goals, and they will be assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them throughout their internship. Regular check-in meetings with their manager will help manage performance expectations and support learning objectives. Additionally, interns will have access to a variety of training programs and professional development events. The mission of the LISCC Recovery and Resolution Preparedness Program (RRP) is to enhance the resiliency of systemically important banks and to mitigate the impact of their distress or failure on the financial system. As RRP interns, students will gain exposure to the supervisory processes of large financial institutions by reviewing various reports, participating in meetings, and assessing firms' capabilities to develop recovery and resolution plans. Interns will collaborate closely with members of the Board's RRP section and may also engage in crossover projects with other Board divisions. Responsibilities will include contributing to supervisory work in evaluating LISCC firms' resolution and recovery preparedness, performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses related to resolution financial topics, and participating in training opportunities focused on recovery and resolution.
