Job Description ***Qualified Instructional Designer candidates located anywhere in the USA to be considered due to the role being remote***TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR:Strong instructional design skills, open to steady feedback, and ability to pivot between tasks.Required Skills• 3+ years' experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment.• Comfortable and capable of working on a High Performing Team.• Experience with technical writing.• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.• Very strong Task Analysis knowledge and capability.• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.• Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.Highly Desired• Safety knowledge strongly desired.• Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it.• Experience developing training for utility industry.Partner with SID and SMEs to conceptualize training design and content.• Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.• Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.• Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions.• Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.• Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. It would be beneficial if you are in the Northern California/San Francisco area but not required.• Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
