Job Title: Part-Time Telehealth Addiction Therapist
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor or Program Director
Location: Remote (Telehealth)
Status: Part-Time, Contract or W2
Hours: Afternoon/Evening Availability Preferred
Position Summary:
A Connecting Pointe is seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Telehealth Therapist to provide individual and group counseling services for clients with substance use disorders and mental health disorders via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. This position is designed to expand access to evidence-based treatment for clients throughout the state of Kansas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive substance use disorder assessments, including ASAM Criteria-based level of care determinations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and treatment team.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, MI, DBT, Contingency Management).
• Complete all required clinical documentation in compliance with KDADS, Medicaid, and agency policies (including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries).
• Maintain regular communication with the clinical supervisor, attending weekly supervision as required.
• Coordinate care with other professionals, including medical staff, case managers, probation/parole officers, and referral sources.
• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed to reflect changes in clinical status.
• Uphold client confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with HIPAA and state/federal guidelines.
• Participate in staff meetings and required training.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must hold a valid Kansas license as one of the following:
• Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
• Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with SUD experience
• Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW)
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with addiction certification
• Must meet the requirements for an addiction counselor as outlined by KDADS and Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in addiction treatment or a related behavioral health setting preferred.
• Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and electronic health record documentation.
• Proficient with telehealth delivery systems and virtual engagement best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Familiarity with KDADS licensing and Medicaid billing standards
Technology Requirements:
• Reliable high-speed internet access
• Private, confidential space for conducting telehealth sessions
• Comfort with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me)
