About the position
The Adjunct Instructional Design - Resource Faculty position at Yuba College is a non-tenure track role focused on developing, coordinating, and implementing training and support for faculty teaching online courses. Under the supervision of an assigned Dean, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering faculty workshops and online tutorials that incorporate technological and instructional best practices. This includes developing training materials such as syllabi, learning outcomes, and visual aids, as well as identifying and coordinating the best online faculty training materials. The role also involves providing ongoing support related to online, hybrid, and other emerging technologies in course delivery, and collaborating with the IT Department to analyze and evaluate relevant equipment and software, with a particular emphasis on open-source materials. In addition to faculty support, the position requires the development of online student orientation materials for students wishing to study online, as well as establishing minimum standards for student enrollment in online courses. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and administrators to ensure the academic quality of all courses delivered in an online or hybrid environment. This role is essential in enhancing the distance learning experience for a diverse college population, particularly those from non-traditional backgrounds. The position entails designing and delivering training related to effective online teaching and learning initiatives, coordinating the faculty online certification process, and participating in various committees related to online instruction and instructional technology. The candidate will also advise Subject Matter Experts in developing and revising course content, integrating rich media to enhance student interaction, and adapting instructional materials for different formats. Furthermore, the role includes maintaining current knowledge of issues in the profession and assisting in overseeing student workers, as well as participating in program review and the development of Program Learning Outcomes.
Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of issues and concerns under discussion in the profession - statewide, nationally, and internationally.
