Backend Developer (.NET)

<p>We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced <strong>Backend Developer</strong> to join our growing engineering team. You will work on a mission-critical system hosted on <strong>Microsoft Azure</strong>, using the <strong>.NET Framework 4.7</strong> and <strong>ASP.NET MVC 5</strong>, powering business applications across the UK and beyond. This is a high-impact role ideal for a backend-focused engineer who thrives in a cloud-native environment and enjoys working with scalable distributed systems</p><p>You will be working daily with:</p><ul> <li> <strong>.NET Framework 4.7</strong>, <strong>ASP.NET MVC 5</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Azure App Services</strong>, <strong>Azure WebJobs</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Azure SQL Database</strong>, <strong>Azure Redis Cache</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Azure Application Insights</strong>, <strong>Azure Storage (Blob/Table/Queue)</strong> </li> <li> <strong>CI/CD with Jenkins</strong> </li> <li> </li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li> 4–6 years of <strong>commercial experience</strong> as a backend developer in .NET environments </li> <li> Strong experience with <strong>cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure</strong> </li> <li> Solid understanding of <strong>RESTful APIs</strong>, multithreading, and performance optimization </li> <li> Good experience working with <strong>SQL databases</strong> and caching layers (Azure Redis) </li> <li> Familiarity with <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, particularly using Jenkins </li> <li> Proficient in <strong>unit testing</strong>, debugging and monitoring production systems </li> <li> Ability to work in an <strong>agile</strong> development environment (Scrum/Kanban) </li> <li> <strong>Excellent communication skills in English (C1+)</strong> – written and spoken </li> <li> <strong>Eligibility to work in the UK</strong> (citizen or valid work permit) </li> </ul><h3><strong>Nice to Have</strong></h3><ul> <li> Experience with <strong>Azure DevOps</strong>, Terraform or ARM templates </li> <li> Exposure to frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular/React) – not required but a bonus </li> <li> Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and/or Kubernetes</li> </ul>
