Responsibilities span over several product lines, including Builders Risk, Contractors Equipment and other specialty Marine products. In this role, you will drive the business segment's profit, growth, and operational objectives by performing actuarial analyses for these growing and evolving lines of business. You will be responsible for traditional actuarial rate making analysis, including rate indications, profit reviews and new product pricing &amp; filings, along with ratings, system deployments and improving pricing sophistication. This position will act as a direct support for the Property segment leaders, helping drive the strategic vision through partnerships with a variety of internal customers, including DSS, Product, Reserving and systems groups. Role requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong technical skills as well as collaboration &amp; communication. Ideal candidate will have Property, DOI engagement, systems engagement and coding expertise.</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul type="disc"><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Act as trusted advisor and direct partner to Property segment leaders &amp; teams.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build deep expertise and insight into Marine portfolios and data.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ownership of pricing models filed rating algorithms, data and processes.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Oversee annual indication &amp; profit review process for influencing pricing levels.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide insights necessary to support the effective use of rating models &amp; areas of opportunity.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Review, revamp and/or create rate change methods &amp; processes for individual segments.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Directly support pricing requirements for new products and coverages, including rate filings.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business objectives and meet field demands.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support product ratemaking, underwriting and operations with data driven analytics.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Translates the vision and strategic priorities of Majors P&amp;M into impactful projects that enable underwriters to effectively select and price risks.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develops and revises strategic and tactical plans as necessary to meet segment objectives and respond to environmental changes.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Partners closely with Property Segment Support lead to influence pricing strategy &amp; execution.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Identifies data requirements for analysis, tool development, reporting and decision making</span></li></ul></div><b style="display:block;margin-bottom:9px;margin-top:18px;">Qualifications</b><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p><ul type="disc"><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree required. Insurance designations desirable.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience required.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Associateship/Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) designation required, or comparable actuarial education combined with relevant experience.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of actuarial techniques and assumptions.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Specialty Property knowledge or Marine lines experience preferred.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong technical skills and tool building capabilities (R, Python or other coding expertise is preferred)</span></li></ul><b style="display:block;margin-bottom:9px;">About Us</b><p style="color: black; font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><b>Pay Philosophy:</b> The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location.
