About the position

The Consulting EHR Support Analyst Pharmacy serves as the primary clinical IT&S resource for the development, implementation, and support of advanced clinical applications or complex MEDITECH tools across the division. This role is crucial in ensuring that the division's clinical applications are effectively utilized and optimized to enhance patient care. The analyst will be responsible for the implementation and support of division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to advanced clinical applications and tools in their specialty area(s). This includes developing, executing, and supporting division-wide tools and resources focused on clinical initiatives, facilitating and leading project implementations, and resolving complex issues escalated from the division Service Desk or other service resources. In addition to these responsibilities, the Consulting EHR Support Analyst Pharmacy will coordinate division-wide parameter management, develop education and training materials for new applications, manage the validation of system upgrades' impact on advanced applications, and implement software releases and best practices related to their specialty area(s). The individual will also participate in the company-wide community in their specialty area(s), supporting community growth within the division by establishing and nurturing strong relationships with all EHR Support roles and core team members. This position requires a mature understanding of clinical operations and clinical application support processes, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and IT personnel. The role involves working closely with the Division EHR Support Specialist Team to identify and promote division goals, providing user support and system maintenance for advanced clinical applications across all division hospitals, and conducting problem analyses to ensure timely and accurate resolution of complex issues. The analyst will also coordinate division-wide testing for advanced clinical applications, assist in the interpretation of test plans, and provide training to division EHR Support specialists and facility EHR Support Analysts. Overall, this position is integral to promoting systems standardization, utilization, and best practices within the division, ensuring compliance with security and confidentiality standards, and contributing to the overall mission of HCA Healthcare to provide compassionate and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing base education/training materials in clinical application specialty area(s) to support staff training and continued education.

• Providing training to division EHR Support specialists and facility EHR Support Analysts on advanced clinical applications.

• Defining clinical application reporting standards and working with facilities to implement them.
,
• Performing clinical applications report writing as needed and coordinating priorities for reporting requests.

• Aggregating data from division-level reports and investigating discrepancies in delivered reports.
,
• Participation with peers in enterprise communities to identify and evaluate best practices.
,
• Identifying, evaluating, designing, and packaging division best practices, policies, and procedures for clinical application implementation and use.

• Promoting system security and patient confidentiality and ensuring compliance.
,

• Participation in special projects as needed and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required.
,
• Consulting EHR Support Analyst Pharmacy - Pharmacist/PharmD required.
,
• Seven+ years' experience in clinical application support and/or Master's Degree.
,
• Mature understanding of clinical operations and clinical application support processes and workflow.
,
• Understanding of pertinent accreditation guidelines, such as JCAHO, MQSA, HIPAA, and ACR.
,
• Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types.
,
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing.
,
• Demonstrated customer orientation and excellent leadership and teaching abilities.
,
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills and understanding of reporting tools functionality and capabilities.
,
• Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work.
