Our client is seeking a PCB Designer with a background in schematics, materials, fabrication, assembly, and related design and simulation software tools to join their team in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Utilize Mentor PADS layout software to incorporate schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into new and revised PCB designs.
• Collaborate with the cross-functional design team to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues identified through fabrication and manufacturing checks.
• Create standard and complex PCB layouts leveraging design methodologies by board technology, e.g., RF, digital, analog, power supply.
• Create and update design files and documentation to incorporate changes to schematic, BOMs, detail drawings, etc., maintaining proper PLM file structure.
• Create PCB stackups and model controlled impedance.
• Perform peer reviews of complex PCB layout designs.
• Create and maintain PCB layout design guidelines.
• Support the assessment and implementation of new and upgraded PCB design software.
• Create and improve checklists and procedures associate with the PCB layout design process.
Required Software: PADS, Xpedition, Cadence, Valor, etc.
Required Experience:
• 5-15 years prior related PCB Design experience.
• Knowledge of the PCB design value chain: schematics, materials, fabrication, assembly, and related design and simulation software tools
• Knowledge of SMT and through-hole electronic components and packages
• Experience working directly with multiple engineering disciplines and functions, e.g., electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, etc.
• Experience working with a PLM tool, e.g., Agile, Teamcenter, etc.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree preferred, not required
Position: Direct Hire
Travel: 5% domestic and international required
