<p style="text-align:left">Position Title:</p>Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Master of Social Work Program<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Time Type:</p>Full time<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Position Summary and Qualifications:</p>The School of Education and Human Development at Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for a tenure track faculty member to join the faculty in its Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. This position is for a 9-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. There may be an opportunity for additional summer teaching.<br><br>The MSW Program seeks experienced social work practitioners, researchers, and scholars. Our Program at SJU launched in Fall 2023 and is currently in candidacy for accreditation with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). <br><br>We are the first zero textbook cost MSW program in the United States. The MSW program prioritizes student wellbeing and basic needs through our Strategic Plan for Paid Practicums. <br><br>This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in program development, curriculum design, and education equity. <br><br>Successful candidates must demonstrate competency with online teaching methods, including best practices in asynchronous and synchronous design and delivery, authentic assessment, and a commitment to continuous pedagogical innovation. <br><br>Successful candidates will also demonstrate how their research agenda will impact SJU, the community, and other stakeholders.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Note to Applicants: </b></p><p><b>Candidates should submit a cover letter, contact information for 3 references, CV, and statement of teaching philosophy (including description of commitment to social justice and advocacy) all under the "Resume/CV" field.</b></p><p></p><p><b>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Developing and teaching online (synchronous and asynchronous) graduate courses in the MSW Program. </span></p></li><li><p><span>SJU teaching load is 9 credit hours in each semester for fall/spring semesters. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Serve on university and department committees</span></p></li><li><p><span>Advising students in the MSW program</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop and maintain an ongoing program of scholarly research</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></p><p><b>Required:</b></p><ul><li><p>Earned PhD in Social Work or DSW (another relevant terminal degree may be considered)<span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Commitment to social justice and advocacy</span></p></li><li><p><span>Competency teaching online.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred:</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Record of student-centered advising from an anti-oppressive and liberatory perspective</span></p></li><li><p><span>Online teaching experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Scholarship of teaching and learning publications or presentations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience developing and aligning curricula with CSWE accreditation standards</span></p></li><li><p><span>Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and interest in program development</span></p></li><li><p><span>Licensure as an LCSW in PA, or license eligible with commitment to apply within year 1 of date of hire</span></p></li><li><p><span>Interdisciplinary experience in Autism support, disability studies, counseling, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, and other allied health professions.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><i>Fully<span> </span><span>remote</span><span> </span>candidates may be considered for this position.</i></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Saint Joseph’s University is a private, Catholic, Jesuit institution and we expect members of our community to be knowledgeable about – and to make a positive contribution to – our mission.
