About the position
The Product Strategy - Data Modernization and Cloud position is focused on assisting data owners in building comprehensive data modernization roadmaps for the organization's data estate. The role involves modernizing data through the application of standard vocabularies, enhanced identifiers, descriptive and structured metadata, open media formats, and other best practices that are well-documented. A significant part of the job includes performing data modeling to create data models across various portfolios within the firm, ensuring that the data is structured and accessible for analytics and reporting purposes. In this role, you will assist in identifying and applying standard vocabularies that can be leveraged for data models, as well as determining which parts of the data require enhanced identifiers. You will provide guidance on how these identifiers can be defined using the processes established internally within the firm. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential, as you will examine information regarding structural and descriptive metadata, assist in creating and publishing this metadata when it is unavailable, and work to ensure its quality. Utilizing metadata effectively will be crucial for performing data modeling and analytics on the firm's key data. You will also provide recommendations to stakeholders on the appropriate open media formats to use for their respective data sets. Engaging with product teams to incorporate data consumer feedback will be necessary to enhance the data being published. Additionally, you will establish training content and launch training sessions related to data modernization, identifying and working with external vendors to onboard them for training purposes. Facilitating parts of the training sessions will be part of your responsibilities to ensure capability building in data modernization. You will also be tasked with identifying platform and process bottlenecks related to data modernization and mitigating these issues. Communication will be a key aspect of your role, as you will deliver updates on data modernization to stakeholder groups, including product teams, and take the lead on reporting the status of data modernization initiatives. This position requires up to 20% domestic travel, and telecommuting is permitted for up to 40% of the week.

Requirements
• Master's degree in Information Technology and Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
,
• Experience in Data & Analytics and digital transformation projects.
,
• Experience with data-related initiatives and advanced analytics including data wrangling and data modeling.
,
• Strong stakeholder management skills in both Business and Technology domains.
,
• Understanding of data structure, design, and storage.
,
• Familiarity with technology and tools related to data such as AWS, Collibra, Alteryx, SQL, or Tableau.

• Project management experience in Agile methodology.
,
• End-to-end program management of large scale projects.

• Experience in the financial services or retail banking industry.
