Overview:Part-time or Full-time (negotiable 0.6 – 1.0 FTE), Fixed Term until 31 December 2025Salary Academic Level A ($98,298 - $109,536 p.a.) or Level B ($115,303 - $136,925 p.a.), depending on post-PhD experience17% Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the Melbourne CBD campusAbout the RoleWe’re looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative academic with a strong background in statistics and/or mathematics to join our Mathematical Sciences team within the School of Science.This is a great opportunity for early- to mid-career researchers or educators to contribute to high-quality teaching while developing or expanding their research portfolio. Whether you’re passionate about statistics education, statistical computing, data science, applied statistics, or mathematical modelling, you’ll be supported to make meaningful contributions that align with our research strengths.You’ll be teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, developing engaging course materials, and delivering lectures, tutorials, and online content. You’ll also have the chance to supervise student research projects and potentially coordinate courses.At RMIT, we value interdisciplinary collaboration, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across the School of Science and STEM College, as well as with industry and external partners.To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally have:A demonstrated ability to teach statistics and/or mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including large classes and online delivery.Experience or interest in using statistical or mathematical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, MATLAB).A commitment to high-quality curriculum development, course coordination, and inclusive, student-focused learning.A developing research profile with potential for collaborative projects and external funding.
