The Banking Organization is a leading nationwide lender specializing in SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA B&I, express loans, asset-based loans, commercial real estate loans, and commercial construction loans.</p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Business Development Officer is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Small Business Administration (SBA) customer relationships, including business development, risk management, operations, underwriting, and relationship management.</p><p><strong>Summary of Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul> <li>Originate Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, equipment leasing and Asset-Based Lending (ABL) financing transactions for small businesses nationwide.</li> <li>Develop and cultivate relationships with customers and brokers who market directly to small business owners.</li> <li>Utilize networking and referrals to generate business leads and identify potential small business owner borrowers.</li> <li>Develop and expand market penetration in assigned locations and markets.</li> <li>Demonstrate the value of the banking organization's entrepreneurial lending philosophy and its ability to serve the needs of small business owners nationwide.</li> <li>Develop marketing and sales strategy in collaboration with the Chief Business Development Officer and the banking organizations marketing group.</li> <li>Generate leads, develop completed financing applications, submit loan packages to underwriting and present loan credits to Credit Committee.</li> <li>Recognize target market credit opportunities and present funding solutions.</li> <li>Obtain customer-signed commitments after loan approval and coordinating the funding of transactions with the banking organizations Operations Group.</li> <li>Achieve annual production goals.</li> <li>Active use of Salesforce and other supporting origination systems to support deal flow</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Basic Education and Experience</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.</li> <li>Five or more years of sales experience in the financial services industry.</li> <li>Strong SBA industry experience required</li> </ul><p><strong>Additional Required Skills and Experience</strong></p><ul> <li>Proven sales ability in serving the financial needs of Small Business Owners with the ability to expand business opportunities.</li> <li>Proven production sales of $20MM+ per year over the previous three years.</li> <li>Marketing and risk management experience.</li> <li>Strong credit and commercial lending skills.</li> <li>Working knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analyses and loan structuring.</li> <li>Basic understanding of the SBA Loan Program.</li> <li>Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong account relationship management and business development/b2b sales skills.</li> <li>Active referral network preferred.</li> <li>Position may be based in a preferred national location.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Aggressive financial incentives for performance, Medical, dental, vision 401(k) with employer match Life and long-term disability coverage HSA and FSA plans Holidays and paid time off requests Robust wellness program (we’re talking catered meals three times a weeks, lunch and learns, and onsite gym.)
