The Advisory Services, Supply Chain Sr. Consultant serves as a strategic advisor and project lead for healthcare clients, focusing on driving cost savings, operational improvements, and supply chain transformation. This client-facing role is hands-on, managing workstreams from analysis through execution while collaborating closely with hospital leads, supply chain teams, and clinical stakeholders.
 
The Senior Consultant plays a critical role in delivering measurable results across areas such as strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract optimization, value analysis, and process improvement. The position also supports internal initiatives, peer knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of consulting methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
Client Delivery & Project Execution:
<ul>
<li>Respond to client requests and manage deliverables for supply chain managed services engagements, ensuring timely execution and high service quality in alignment with contractual obligations</li>
<li>Develop and deliver clear, concise updates to leaders at hospital client sites and internal leadership teams</li>
<li>Conduct spend analysis, supplier negotiations, contract optimization, and strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings</li>
<li>Drive sourcing initiatives and engage directly with suppliers, vendors, and GPOs to optimize client outcomes</li>
<li>Support governance, value analysis, and physician alignment efforts</li>
<li>Deliver executive-level presentations summarizing findings, financial impacts, and recommended actions</li>
<li>Monitor progress toward savings targets, manage project plans, and provide status updates to clients and leadership</li>
</ul>
Internal Collaboration & Methodology Support
<ul>
<li>Contribute to refining internal tools, frameworks, and consulting methodologies based on field experience and client feedback</li>
<li>Participate in peer knowledge sharing, case study development, and lessons-learned sessions to strengthen team capabilities</li>
<li>Support internal training initiatives and act as a resource to junior team members, offering expertise as a peer</li>
<li>Assist with internal strategic projects, thought leadership, and operational improvement efforts</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">3+ years of healthcare supply chain experience in consulting, hospital operations, GPOs, or supplier roles handling spend analysis, supplier negotiations, contract optimization, and strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">2+ years of proven experience leading healthcare supply chain cost savings initiatives, including sourcing and supplier negotiation.</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Proven solid analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Ability to develop executive-level presentations and deliver complex information clearly to C-suite audiences</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, and client relationships simultaneously</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Ability to be comfortable navigating healthcare supply chain data, contracts, and supplier dynamics</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Willingness to travel up to 75%25 for client or internal meetings</li>
</ul>
 
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Lean Process Improvement (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) </li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Experience leading complex supply chain transformation engagements within hospitals</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Experience revamping supply chain methodology and evaluation frameworks</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Demonstrated familiarity with value analysis, physician preference items (PPI), purchased services, and GPO alignment</li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;">Experience working with ERP systems (Workday, Oracle, Infor) or supply chain analytics platforms</li>
</ul>

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
