<p><strong>Title:</strong> Controller<br> <strong>Location:</strong> Fully Remote<br> <strong>Reports to:</strong> CFO <br></p><h3>Summary</h3><p>We’re seeking a hands‑on <strong>Controller</strong> to lead all accounting operations and own the integrity of financial reporting under <strong>US GAAP</strong>. The ideal candidate is a <strong>CPA</strong> with <strong>8+ years</strong> of progressive accounting experience, including <strong>2+ years in a Controller role</strong>, who can scale processes, strengthen controls, and partner cross‑functionally to drive operational discipline.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><p><strong>Financial Reporting &amp; Close</strong></p><ul> <li> Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close; deliver accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. </li> <li> Prepare and review consolidations, eliminations, and multi‑entity reporting. </li> <li> Lead technical accounting for revenue (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), equity (ASC 718), debt (ASC 470), and other relevant areas. </li> <li> Draft and maintain accounting policies, memos, and position papers. </li> </ul><p><strong>Controls, Compliance &amp; Audit</strong></p><ul> <li> Design, document, and improve internal controls over financial reporting; implement segregation of duties and approval workflows. </li> <li> Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and reviews; manage PBC requests and resolve findings. </li> <li> Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements (partnering with tax advisors as needed). </li> </ul><p><strong>Operational Accounting</strong></p><ul> <li> Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory/COGS (as applicable), and expense management. </li> <li> Manage cash positioning, treasury operations, credit/collections, and working capital optimization. </li> <li> Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and key estimates. </li> </ul><p><strong>Planning &amp; Business Partnership</strong></p><ul> <li> Collaborate with FP&amp;A on budgets/forecasts; provide variance analyses and cost insights. </li> <li> Support pricing, margin, and unit‑economics analyses; provide decision‑ready financial insights to leadership. </li> <li> Prepare board/management reporting packages and KPI dashboards. </li> </ul><p><strong>Systems &amp; Process Improvement</strong></p><ul> <li> Own the ERP and accounting tech stack (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics 365 BC, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise); lead automations and integrations. </li> <li> Champion continuous improvement to shorten close cycle and increase data quality. </li> </ul><p><strong>Leadership</strong></p><ul> <li> Build, mentor, and scale a high‑performing accounting team. </li> <li> Foster collaboration with Operations, Sales/RevOps, HR, and Legal. </li> </ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul> <li> <strong>CPA (active)</strong> required. </li> <li> <strong>8+ years</strong> progressive accounting experience, including <strong>2+ years as a Controller</strong> (or equivalent scope/ownership). </li> <li> <strong>Expert knowledge of US GAAP</strong> and technical accounting. </li> <li> Proven success leading monthly close, audits, and multi‑entity consolidations. </li> <li> Track record implementing or upgrading ERPs and strengthening internal controls. </li> <li> Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). </li> <li> Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management. </li> </ul><h3>Nice to Have</h3><ul> <li> Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) experience. </li> <li> Industry experience in <strong>SaaS</strong>, <strong>technology</strong>, <strong>manufacturing</strong>, <strong>e‑commerce</strong>, or <strong>services</strong>. </li> <li> Multi‑currency and international entity experience; IFRS exposure. </li> <li> Sales/use tax, payroll tax, and state nexus familiarity. </li> </ul><h3></h3>
