Position Overview
This is an independent contractor position. As such, you will be responsible for managing your own taxes, benefits, and other work-related obligations. Wonder Spark Learning will not provide employment benefits, and this role does not constitute an employer-employee relationship.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Spanish teachers to join our team as independent contractors. Teachers will have the unique opportunity to create their own lesson plans and enjoy full flexibility in scheduling.
As a teacher at Wonder Spark Learning, you’ll play a vital role in shaping students’ language skills and cultural awareness while delivering dynamic, live classes through Zoom. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about teaching Spanish and value the freedom to choose their own classes, schedules, and teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered Spanish lessons tailored to one of the following age groups:
• Lower Elementary (Ages 4-8): Small classes with an emphasis on interactive activities, songs, and games to build foundational language skills.
• Upper Elementary & Middle School (Ages 9-14): Classes focusing on conversational Spanish, reading, and writing skills through hands-on and collaborative activities.
• High School & Advanced Learners (Ages 15+): More structured lessons focusing on grammar, cultural immersion, and advanced language proficiency.
• Foster a supportive and interactive online classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and ask questions.
• Use engaging teaching techniques such as role-playing, storytelling, games, and multimedia tools to enhance student engagement.
• Adapt teaching methods and content to meet the diverse needs of students with varying levels of Spanish proficiency.
• Communicate with parents as needed to provide feedback on student progress and address any questions or concerns.
Qualifications
Background Check: Candidates must successfully pass a background check.
Background Check Details: Wonder Spark Learning will cover the cost of the background check, which will include verification of criminal record and education credentials.
Required:
• Proficiency in Spanish.
• Fluency in English for effective communication with students and parents.
• Experience teaching children and/or teenagers, with a proven ability to engage and inspire young learners.
• A dedicated, quiet workspace with a reliable computer, high-speed internet, webcam, and microphone for seamless online instruction.
Preferred:
• Prior experience teaching Spanish online.
• Familiarity with Zoom and digital teaching tools.
• Knowledge of language acquisition best practices and teaching methodologies for young learners.
• A degree in education, linguistics, or a related field.
Pay and Benefits
Compensation:
• Pay ranges from $16 to $38 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and class type.
Flexibility:
• Teachers set their own schedules and can select the classes they want to teach.
• No minimum or maximum contract length—choose what works best for you.
Support and Resources:
• Teachers receive onboarding support, including guidance on best practices for online teaching.
• While you’ll create your own lesson plans, we provide resources to help you get started if needed.

Platform: All classes are conducted via Zoom.
Class Duration: Classes typically range from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the age group and lesson type.
