Job DescriptionJob Description: The Goucher College’s Graduate & Professional Studies seeks non-tenure track adjunct faculty to teach the following graduate courses listed below within the MA in Applied Policy Analysis (APA) program. The courses will be offered synchronously online (via Teams), starting on August 28, 2025. The instructor will be required to maintain a Canvas site for course resources. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds. We are particularly interested in candidates who can deepen our students’ understanding of the interactions between the practical use of analytical tools and methods to evaluate, design, and improve public policies. Contracts for adjunct faculty are subject to renewal on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on factors such as enrollment, instructor availability, and student success. Introduction to Data Analytics – This course introduces students to the core concepts, methods, and tools used in data analytics, drawing from statistics, mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Students will gain hands-on experience working with real-world data as they learn foundational techniques such as data sourcing, cleaning, exploration, analysis, and visualization. The course emphasizes practical skill development in tools such as Python, Excel, or R, while also preparing students for more advanced coursework and the critical evaluation of published data projects.Requirements: A successful candidate would be able to begin teaching on August 28, 2025. Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Political Science, or other social sciences, with strong quantitative method training.Demonstrated ability to use at least one major data tool like R or PythonAt least one year of experience teaching at the college level in data analysis, research methods, or quantitative reasoningComfortable working with students from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds, including those without strong math… Apply To This Job
