Who We Are:
Advanced Anesthesia Services specializes in providing anesthesia services to a wide variety of medical clinics in the northwest. We currently work with 13 different ambulatory surgery centers in the greater Seattle area. Our 28 CRNA's perform approximately 12,000 anesthesia cases a year and we have an office administrative and billing staff of 7.
Who we Need:
We are seeking an experienced medical biller/coder with the ability to multitask, work at a fast pace, and maintain a high level of organization and detail. Experience working in anesthesia would provide a particular advantage (but is not necessary).
Under general supervision, the Medical Biller / Coder will work closely with the Revenue Cycle team to maximize reimbursement from insurance carriers, patients, and miscellaneous entities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well independently as part of a fast-paced team.

This position is full time (40 hours per week) largely remote position. Applicant must live in WA state and be able to commute to Snoqualmie / Bellevue area for occasional staff meetings.
Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Reviews and posts charges based on coding guidelines and chart documentation, ensuring billing records correspond with and support medical records.
• When appropriate communicates approved coding changes and/or questions to the team
• Alerts management to coding trends discovered while working daily charges/edits.
• Help answer phones, assist with billing questions / quotes
Required Education and Experience:
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• 4-5 years experience in the medical coding field.
• Experience in podiatry, orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ENT, and GI coding is a big plus. Coding and billing experience is most vital, we will train a strong candidate on other tasks.
• Must have a good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, procedure codes.
• Must be able to plan and prioritize workflow and produce an acceptable volume of work accurately.
• Must possess strong analytical and research capabilities to clinical documentation.
• Solid understanding of insurance terms as well as how to interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB) is essential for this role.
• Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems and strong computer skills
• Certified coder either through AAPC or an equivalent organization strongly preferred.
Pay depends on experience.
