<p><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Position Overview: </strong>The Associate Director will assist the Director in planning, executing, and reporting on the daily operations of the Veterans Career Program.</span></p>

<ul>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assist with regular program updates and comprehensive summary reports to the Deputy Executive Director, PVA leadership, and strategic partners. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Represent PVA and Veterans Career Program before federal, state, and private sector agencies, sub-agencies, or programs on veteran employment matters and programs. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assist in the development and implementation of the Veterans Career Program strategic plan to engage the veteran community and veteran-ready employers </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assist with the updating/development of Veterans Career Program policy and procedure manuals and other supporting documentation as necessary. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Primary lead for Veterans Career Program counseling services, working directly with Veterans Career Program Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) and Employment Analysts (EAs) to ensure expert employment and vocational rehabilitation counseling services, including:</span>

<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Development and implementation of online training, professional development, certification/recertification, and compliance training for VRCs and EAs.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assisting with the interviewing, onboarding, and training of new counselors.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assisting with the potential expansion of counseling services with the addition of VRCs & EAs.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Determining specific objectives, goals, and action plans of individual counselors.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Ensuring proper preparation, development, maintenance, and follow-up on diversified vocational rehabilitation and employment.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Serving as a lead for PVA’s Employment Network with the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program, assisting veterans receiving Social Security Disability Insurance as they pursue paid employment. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Assisting VCRS and EAs with the expansion of the client base through the development and pursuit of an effective outreach program.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Schedule, develop & host virtual webinars related to veteran, disability & employment topics.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Developing and encouraging good working relationships with chapters of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Department of Veterans Affairs, other veterans’ service organizations, employment agencies, and community resources to maximize employment opportunities for paralyzed veterans.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with VAMCs and SCI Centers within the assigned areas of jurisdiction.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Serving on committees of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Paralyzed Veterans of America, or other related organizations as directed.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Researching and preparing reports and documents on issues of concern to Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Veterans Career Program.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Traveling as required by the Veterans Career Program, and attends scheduled training seminars, employment/hiring events, and related activities.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Serving as a vocational and employment expert at PVA training seminars, to PVA’s field representatives, and other internal and external functions as assigned. Plans, prepares, and conducts individual training presentations.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Ensuring that PVA Chapters are fully apprised of information relating to or affecting the delivery of vocational rehabilitation and employment services to veteran beneficiaries. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li>

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><strong>Qualifications: </strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Must have a Master’s level degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related field.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Must have and be able to maintain the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certificate.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Veterans Affairs accreditation for representatives</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Suitability clearance for the Social Security Administration Employment Network. </span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the vocational rehabilitation field in the private sector, government, or non-profit arenas is preferred but not required.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Must have demonstrated expert proficiency in assisting clients in obtaining employment.</span></li>
<li style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and presentation skills.</span></li>
