<p style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The Optum Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs department is seeking an Associate General Counsel (AGC) to join its Growth Legal Team to provide contracting and transactional support to the Optum Growth and Customer office. The position will primarily provide legal guidance and contracting services to OptumInsight sales leaders.</span></span></p>

<p style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The AGC will become part of an innovative and experienced team of attorneys and legal professionals that operate in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. The candidate must be able to prioritize multiple competing priorities, communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and customers, and have desire to develop a deep knowledge of Optum product offerings. &nbsp;Significant contracting drafting experience is a requirement, and experience working in an in-house environment will be considered. &nbsp;The AGC will be expected to handle contracting matters from beginning to end with minimal supervision, participate in team-wide process improvement initiatives, and provide guidance and oversight to non-attorneys and attorneys.</span></span></p>

<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Serve as a leader for the customer contracting team and support team initiatives</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Review contract language to ensure consistency/eliminate conflicts</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Draft/update standard language for contract templates</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Draft non-standard contract language or custom agreements based on negotiations</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Review counterparty (e.g., client, vendor, provider) forms/contract templates to ensure inclusion of necessary terms and conditions for the transaction</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Identify issues in contracts/proposals/documents that require escalation and engage senior legal counsel or other stakeholders as appropriate</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Communicate risks and explain contract language and terminology (e.g., limits of liability, indemnifications, audits, etc.) appropriately for a given audience</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Defend the company's position and rationale on contract terms</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Meet with appropriate individuals (e.g., internal/external parties, vendors, outside counsel) to discuss and negotiate non-standard terms</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Identify/recommend/engage relevant internal/external stakeholders in the contract process to problem-solve and resolve issues and approve non-standard terms</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Manage multiple contract priorities (e.g., assigned cases/accounts, projects, tasks) and remain focused on key/appropriate priorities in the contracting process</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Identify/participate in projects to suggest contract process or customer service improvements</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Search and maintain contract records and data</span></span></li>
<li style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Track and report contract status, exceptions or non-standard approvals</span></span></li>

The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.&nbsp;</span></span></p>
