About the position
The Financial Planning and Performance Analyst position at Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation is a critical role within the Corporate Planning/Financial Performance department. This position is based in either the Topeka General Office or the Kansas City Headquarters and is designed to provide essential financial support to various business functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and relevant financial information and analysis that will inform and influence decision-making processes across the organization. This role emphasizes the importance of customer service, as the analyst will act as a financial partner and resource for the supported business functions. Key responsibilities include assisting with the preparation and input of annual budgets, conducting monthly variance analysis, and providing management feedback regarding budget versus actual variances. The analyst will also support regulatory initiatives by responding to data requests and assist in the preparation of monthly financial outlooks. Additionally, the role involves supporting the administration of the Hyperion Planning system and working on various projects as assigned. The position requires a combination of remote and in-office work, with specific in-office days designated for collaboration and meetings. Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, with a preference for experience in budgeting, financial modeling, or analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and excellent organizational skills. Familiarity with MS Office and Hyperion Tools is essential, while experience with PowerPlan, Peoplesoft, and Work Management systems is considered a plus. The working conditions are hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location, and occasional travel may be required within the Kansas City and Topeka regions.

• Good understanding of accounting and financial principles and solid working knowledge of financial statements.
