About the position
Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate instructional activities in animation, including evaluation by students and supervisors.
- Create an inclusive learning environment that values mutual respect and lifelong learning.
- Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
- Plan and prepare effectively for classes to ensure student success.
- Hold regular, weekly office hours for student support.
- Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings, with additional compensation provided.
- Record class attendance in the Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by specified due dates.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation.
- Complete the online Faculty Certification Course administered through RMCAD's Learning Management System.
Requirements
- MFA in Animation or a related field, or a BFA with substantial industry experience.
- Expertise in Toon Boom Harmony and/or Autodesk Maya.
- College-level teaching experience preferred.
- Must reside in the greater Denver Metro Area or in remote states (CO, CA, NY, NJ, AZ, FL).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in creating animations for projection mapping, motion graphics, or video games.
- Background in fine arts or related disciplines.
- Experience as a stunt performer or in creating digital sculptures for 3D printing.
