About the position

Join our dedicated and friendly medical office team, where patient care and financial health go hand in hand. Our office has been serving the community for over 40 years, building long-standing relationships with our patients. We are a physician-owned and managed practice, not affiliated with hospitals or private equity firms. We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Assistant / Administrative Assistant to support our billing operations, front desk, and administrative tasks. If you have experience in medical billing, are knowledgeable about insurance claims, and are passionate about contributing to a healthcare environment, we'd love to hear from you. As a Billing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in processing and managing patient billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with office policies. You will handle accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding payments and managing collections. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing and optimizing the revenue cycle management (RCM) process, verifying and submitting insurance claims, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement. You will review and resolve billing discrepancies, working closely with patients and insurance companies, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance information, billing codes, and regulatory requirements. In addition to billing tasks, you will assist with patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance claims, support front desk operations, including scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and handling phone calls. Collaboration with other office staff will be essential to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will work under the direction of our RCM manager and coordinate with the corporate billing team and EMR representative, teaching and supporting other team members as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• Previous experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, collections, and RCM preferred.

• Familiarity with front desk processes to assure clean claims is important.

• High proficiency and comfort in dealing with computers and Microsoft Outlook.

• Proficiency in using EMR and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
