About the position
The Informatics Practice Specialist II plays a crucial role in the planning, development, implementation, optimization, and evaluation of KP Health Connect (KPHC) Clinical Informatics efforts and other clinical systems. This position requires a strong partnership with Information Technology, Nursing, Quality Risk Management (QRM), and operational leaders to ensure that existing and future information systems support clinical practice and the delivery of safe patient care. The specialist will advocate for the use of KPHC and other clinical systems, directing the development and implementation of changes aimed at improving quality, care experience, and efficiency across the continuum of care. In this role, the Informatics Practice Specialist II will collaborate with Medical Center leaders and key stakeholders to identify and implement innovative models and best practices within clinical information systems. They will manage clinical systems to achieve high customer satisfaction, emphasizing customer service and maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation. The specialist will also provide program planning, management, and consultative services in clinical education, ensuring that training and development align with the needs of a competent professional workforce. The position involves conducting ad hoc training, ensuring appropriate utilization of KPHC and other clinical systems, and providing leadership and technical advice related to KPHC, process and workflow design, and data management. The specialist will evaluate the impact of information systems on user workflow, identify workflow changes to enhance the use of nursing and clinical information systems, and coordinate ongoing evaluations of KPHC, focusing on user accuracy, data integrity, and system reliability. Additionally, they will participate in interdisciplinary teams to identify potential future uses for KPHC and improvements in current system usage, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends in Nursing and Healthcare Informatics.

Requirements
• Minimum five (5) years nursing experience in patient care.
,
• Masters degree required in a related field.
,
• BSN or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required.
,
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
,
• Completion of a certification program in a healthcare-related area of Informatics or a Master's Degree in healthcare-related Informatics within three (3) years of employment.
,
• Registered Nurse License (California) required.
,
• Basic Life Support certification required.
,
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and expertise in clinical informatics.
