About the position
The Svc Unit Non RN Manager I position at Kaiser Permanente is a managerial role responsible for overseeing one or more units providing ambulatory services within the Regional Perinatal Service Center. This position ensures that the staff delivers high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care while maintaining a patient-focused approach that complies with local, state, and federal regulations. The manager will be involved in developing and maintaining budgets, as well as ongoing staff development to ensure that the unit operates efficiently and effectively. In this role, the manager will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain patient care and quality service standards that meet the expectations of members and internal clients. Acting as a patient advocate, the manager will resolve patient care issues and design processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care. Additionally, the manager will monitor financial performance, identify strategies to reduce costs, and improve the quality of care and services provided. The position also involves determining the appropriate staff mix for the department, developing processes for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, and maintaining the competency of all department staff. The manager will provide ongoing staff development and implement departmental policies and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives. Furthermore, the manager will collaborate with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief to develop patient services and manage day-to-day operations, while also addressing human resource, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management issues.
Responsibilities
• Manage or assist in managing the operations of one or more units in an outpatient facility.

• Ensure staff provides high-quality care in compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulations.

• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to establish and maintain patient care standards.

• Act as a patient advocate and resolve patient care issues.

• Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results.

• Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations.

• Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care.

• Determine appropriate staff mix and develop processes for hiring and training staff.

• Provide ongoing staff development and maintain staff competency.

Requirements
• Minimum two (2) years of project management, program management, or supervisory experience OR one (1) year of experience with a Master's degree.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Knowledge of The Joint Commission and other local, state, and federal regulations.

• Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
,
• Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
