POSITION SUMMARY Under minimal supervision, performs intermediate level duties. Work involves developing, maintain, implementing and converting cartographic and planimetric data for the Geographic Information System (GIS) and developing and producing GIS specific related products through GIS applications and software tools. Work also involves using many different coordinate systems and projections, running complex analysis and having the ability to provide in-depth statistical reports.

An employee handles assignments independently, referring only unusual matters or new policy decisions to supervisors. Note: This position can work remotely anywhere in the State of Colorado and the chosen candidate must be a Colorado resident. Relocation assistance is not budgeted for this position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Creates visual representations of geospatial data using complex procedures such as analytical modeling, three-dimensional renderings and plot creation. Performs computer programming, data analysis or software development for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, including the maintenance of existing systems or research and development for future enhancements. Prepares maps, graphics and data products as necessary for quality assurance procedures or in response to internal and external customer service data and mapping requests.

Creates, edits or analyzes geospatial data using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and digitizing techniques. Documents, designs, codes or tests Geographic Information Systems (GIS) models, internet mapping solutions or other applications. Conducts or coordinates research, data analysis, systems design or support for software such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Global Positioning Systems (GPS) mapping software.

Develop small software systems including creation of user interface layout and programming (C#, .Net, Flex & ArcObjects) that enhances existing GIS applications for departmental productivity. Assists and trains other Pueblo County staff in implementing technical solutions for GIS related business opportunities and install GIS software. Participates and provides leadership as a member of a project team

Identifies problems, issues, and risks and participate in the identification, documentation and communication of solutions. Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
