About the position

The Statewide System of Support Consultant position at the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is designed to coordinate activities for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Statewide System of Support (SSOS) for schools identified for support under federal accountability. This role involves collaboration with internal and external partners to promote continuous improvement and effective utilization of state processes and systems to enhance educational outcomes for at-risk students.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate all aspects of the Statewide System of Support (SSOS) for schools identified for support under federal accountability.

• Encourage active involvement of internal and external partners to support continuous improvement.
,
• Utilize state processes, platforms, and systems for continuous improvement in education.
,
• Provide guidance and support to local education agencies in developing and implementing programs funded by federal or state resources.
,
• Support MDE policy development on issues related to equitable educational experiences and school turnaround.

Requirements
• Master's degree or higher in a field of education, or a bachelor's degree with a major in education combined with a master's degree in a subject area, or a doctorate degree in education.

• At least three years of administrative or consultative experience in K-12 or early childhood education.
,
• Current or past Michigan teacher's certificate or a comparable certification.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in continuous improvement processes at the school or district level.

• Experience providing training or technical assistance to schools or districts.
,
• Experience presenting to groups of 25 or more.
