About the position
The Director of Technical Writing for Platform Content Experience at Salesforce will lead the Content Experience (CX) team, focusing on creating and managing technical content that supports AI-driven application and agent development. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and operational management to ensure the delivery of high-quality onboarding, training, and technical content for various audiences, including developers and administrators. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and a strategic thinker, capable of inspiring their team and driving innovation in a fast-paced technology environment.
Responsibilities
• Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for content that supports the Platform business.

• Inspire the team to understand and deliver on the collective vision.

• Share team priorities and accomplishments with stakeholders and executives.

• Prioritize work and lead the execution of the team's roadmap.

• Measure performance and customer success, making adjustments based on feedback.

• Mentor and provide professional development for the team of writers and content strategists.

• Hold team members accountable to expectations with transparent communication.

• Drive innovation and improve productivity by streamlining operations.

• Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members as needed.

• Contribute to overall Content Experience team initiatives.
Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in technical content development.

• 3+ years in a management role, with at least 2 years managing other managers.
,
• 2+ years experience creating developer documentation or managing documentation teams.
,
• Strong strategic planning skills and experience.
,
• Experience leading organizations and managing operations.
,
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
,
• Strong interpersonal skills to inspire and empower teams.
,
• Data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
,
• Experience in a fast-paced technology or software environment.

• A degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
