About the position

The Applications Developer - IT Programmer Analyst 9 position is a vital role within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) of the State of Michigan, specifically supporting the Michigan Lottery. This position is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and implementation of Lottery IT systems and applications. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the section manager and will be involved in various assignments that include the development, testing, implementation, and deployment of IT application releases, updates, and modifications within both client/server and web server environments. All project assignments will be executed in accordance with the State of Michigan System Engineering Methodology (SEM). The role requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for IT application development. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively prepare and present oral and written reports, as well as clear and concise documentation. Responsibilities
• Design, develop, maintain, and implement Lottery IT systems and applications.

• Execute project assignments within the framework of the State of Michigan System Engineering Methodology (SEM).

• Prepare clear and concise documentation for IT applications and systems.

Requirements
• Possession of an Associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.

• No specific amount or type of experience is required for this position.

• Alternate education and experience may include completion of high school and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT Technician, or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant.
