EMA’s teachers will be working remotely in a 1:1 mode or groups with students of different backgrounds, learning styles, needs, intellect levels as well as English and Spanish speaking students.
The schedule is flexible and open preferably between 9:00AM and 6:00PM M-F and S 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
EMA teachers must be respectful, caring, enthusiastic, committed, fun but professional towards their students, parents, colleagues and work environment. Tutors must know how to adapt to students and follow up on their needs.
The difference we aim to pursue with our students, depends on how well we communicate, care and observe them.
Such communication should also apply to the academic director and coordinator.
Our community must be one that contributes in creating a warm, friendly and professional environment for our students to help them reach their academic and personal goals.
EMA teachers must be understanding and patient around children and adults, seeking remote but efficient ways of teaching, so that the students are ultimately satisfied to the point where they know they are appreciated, acknowledged with their goals fulfilled.
EMA expects that such trust will be reflected with a minimum of 4-star rating or higher. By the contrary, the contract will be terminated any time because our most important mission is to fulfill the students’ needs.
Even though teachers must follow EMA’s format, they are welcome to include fun and innovative engaging teaching tools.
To maintain your position at EMA, you will be graded on a scale from 1 to 5 stars, if the tutor receives a bad review from parents or students, an email should be sent to them attending the cause of such review. The purpose of it is to correct such discomfort and for the review to be modified.
In the case that a bad review was made as the consequence of students´ or parents’ retaliation due to a bad grade that was out of your hands.
If a teachers receive 2 times a 3-star review, without it being corrected, a second meeting will be created with agreements to follow.
EMA teachers will use and book their sessions through Calendly and teach in the Zoom platform. Sessions will be used on a one-to-one basis.
The tutoring platform will be used to upload and download information to be used prior post and during the session.
Requirements:
Must be an U.S. citizen and have a U.S. bank account to receive payroll
Must be college student or student graduate
Have studies in one or more subjects that we offer.
Excellent pronunciation either in Spanish or English or both
Being proficient in one or more of the K-12 subjects such as Math, English mastery and English as a Second Language, Spanish as a Second Language, Science, Wellness, Personal Finances & Entrepreneurship, Aesthetic Appreciation & Mindfulness, Sustainability and Career Readiness.
Have their own computer.
Steady high speed internet connection (50Mbps minimum)
Private and interruption-free space for tutoring
Commitment to the students, academy and schedule
Latest version of Zoom
Able to accommodate their schedule around the student’s needs.
Must be either native English or Spanish speaking tutors and some of them will be required to be both English and Spanish speakers.
Know their way around online platforms (Google classroom, Moodle, etc.) and be able to use them properly.
Prepare their classes prior to the session, having considered students’ academic and personal needs.
Respect and comply to the confidentiality agreements and not give tutoring sessions outside of EMA’s platform.
Minimum of 3 years working as teachers or tutors in an online modaility
Knowledge handling students of different levels and learning styles and intelligences.
