About the position
Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Director of Compliance Services and VP Compliance and Privacy in managing hospital compliance staff and program.
- Lead and supervise Compliance Services staff, training employees across a multi-hospital health system.
- Conduct compliance meetings to foster open communication within the organization.
- Evaluate performance and provide support to Compliance Services staff, promoting professional development.
- Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of compliance auditing, investigations, and reviews, including the Annual Compliance Work Plan.
- Work to ensure all elements of an effective compliance program are met.
- Perform a variety of compliance tasks, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in compliance, audit, legal, or equivalent field.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) designation required, or must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Experience in compliance-related certifications such as CPC, RHIA, CPMA, CCS, or CHIAP is preferred.
- Experience responding to or performing Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental or regulatory audits is preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulations impacting hospitals, including documentation, coding, and billing procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to problem solve and perform research is required.
- Must be organized, versatile, and able to work independently.
Nice-to-haves
- RN, LPN, or other clinical degrees and licenses would be valuable.
- Additional compliance-related certifications are preferred.
