About the position
The Python Developer with Data Platform role is a temporary contract position focused on developing and managing data solutions within a hybrid work environment. The position requires expertise in data management principles and tools, with a strong emphasis on data governance, cataloging, and ETL processes. The developer will work closely with project milestones related to metadata and will serve as a subject matter expert in data cataloging, ensuring effective usage and training for users.
Responsibilities
• Work on project milestones for metadata identification, standardization, and updates within data lake house tables.

• Develop and publish metrics for metadata completeness and data catalog usage.
,
• Serve as a subject matter expert for data catalog, creating training materials and educating users as needed.
,
• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
,
• Think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
Requirements
• Strong understanding of data management principles, governance frameworks, and best practices.
,
• Experience with data cataloging tools and systems (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, Databricks Unity Catalog).
,
• Full-stack development experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java/SpringBoot, Python/Flask).
,
• Solid understanding of SDLC practices, Unit/Regression Testing, Application Resiliency, Security, Agile Methodologies, and CI/CD.
,
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
,
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with Azure Data bricks or AWS Snowflake, AWS Glue, SQS, SNS, messaging ETL Pipelines.

• Experience in data mart.
