We're looking for an outgoing individual who wants to lead the proactive Sales efforts for group bookings at our Sioux Falls hotels. These hotels include the Courtyard by Marriott Sioux Falls, Springhill Suites by Marriott Sioux Falls, Residence Inn by Marriott Sioux Falls, Fairfield by Marriott Sioux Falls and Hilton Garden Inn Sioux Falls South. As part of our KAJ Sioux Falls Sales Team, you'll help us achieve and exceed our revenue goals by selling a memorable experience for all rooms-only group bookings at our hotels. You will be responsible for handling all incoming group room block inquiries and serve as the sales point of contact for rooms-only groups for the Sioux Falls market. As the Group Sales Manager, you'll be expected to research and maintain knowledge of market trends and events and to analyze the market using tools provided to you to quote optimal group rates for the Sioux Falls hotels both over the phone and via online booking sites. This role will also be expected to maintain a strong relationship with the local CVB to maximize revenue booked through their organization. This is a Sales role where you will be responsible for group stays from the initial inquiry and booking, through check-in, to follow up and re-booking for the next year. This role makes a huge impact on the success of the Sioux Falls hotels!
Responsibilities
• Responsible for handling incoming group and meeting leads for 4 Marriott-branded hotels in Sioux Falls market - Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott - all located at Empire Mall Sioux Falls.

• Serves as the Sales point of contact for group and meeting clients and builds strong relationships to create KAJ loyalty.
,
• Responds quickly to requests in a friendly, professional manner and follows up to ensure satisfaction.
,
• Communicates via phone and email to respond to client questions and requests.
,
• Responds to all online group and meeting inquiries in a timely manner from sources including but not limited to CVB, Hotelplanner, SFAWeb and Cvent.
,
• Uses sales techniques (e.g. needs to benefits, objectives and features) that maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty.
,
• Sells a memorable experience while delivering 'Extraordinary Experience' Service.
,
• Conducts site visits of the hotels with clients, as requested.
,
• Answers guest questions about property facilities/services (e.g. rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events).
,
• Quotes and negotiate prices - Perform inventory search of hotel(s) availability based on customer requests and utilize displacement calculator to determine rates to quote.
,
• Match hotel(s) need dates with customer's needs - ensure an offering to each customer.
,
• Cross sell KAJ hotels across portfolio.
,
• Follows up on all inquiries to close the sale.
,
• Track all lost sales and reasons to analyze for future strategy.
,
• Maintain communication with clients leading up to each group's arrival to ensure group accuracy.
,
• Follow up with each departing group to ensure satisfaction and if there are future booking needs.
,
• Follow up for re-booking needs every 3 months with past groups.
,
• Build and manage group inventory in each hotel's property management system.
,
• Plan meetings and events with client.
,
• Generate BEO prior to event and coordinate event management with hotel operations staff.
,
• Responsible for preparation and distribution of sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, or banquet event orders).
,
• Prepares and reviews written documents accurately and completely.
,
• Assist with keeping sales collateral up-to-date.
,
• Inform market Directors of Sales of potential opportunities for further bookings to prospect.
,
• Coordinate departmental communications for incoming groups.
,
• Be present for large and high-profile group check ins.
,
• Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify information (e.g., commissions, leads, third parties).
,
• Participate in in-person sales calls with the market Directors of Sales pertaining to gaining future group bookings.
,
• Complete other projects and reports as requested by Area Director of Sales.
Requirements
• Outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
,
• Experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
,
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
,
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
,
• Proficiency in using sales software, specifically Amadeus Delphi.
,
• Ability to analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
,
• Experience in handling group bookings and inquiries.
