About the position
Language Plus is a language training and communications center located in El Paso, Texas, with over 40 years of experience in helping students achieve their personal, social, and professional goals through language training. We primarily teach English and Spanish to both adults and children, offering classes online and in person. In addition to these languages, we also provide training in German, French, and Japanese. As a Spanish Teacher/Trainer at Language Plus, you will be responsible for leading private and small group classes using a natural, communicative approach to teaching. Your role will involve creating an environment that encourages students to engage actively in speaking during each class. This part-time position requires availability for both in-person and online teaching, with a strong preference for candidates who are bilingual and capable of teaching both English and Spanish. You will report directly to the Academic Director and are expected to demonstrate a natural ability to focus, view teaching as an art, and be creative in your approach. We are looking for individuals who can facilitate a process for students to connect with the language on a deeper level, be sensitive to the needs of individuals and groups, and adapt spontaneously when necessary. You will be tasked with creating interesting and energetic lessons that are not solely reliant on textbooks, and you should be comfortable working with adults in both small group and private learning environments. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of different classes and courses, and you must be willing to undergo training to enhance your teaching skills.
