About the Role:
We are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist, Medical Director to provide both direct clinical care and clinical leadership. In this role, you'll spend approximately 70% of your time delivering patient care and 30% leading and supporting our medical team across multiple states.
You'll play a key role in clinical quality, provider support, documentation oversight, and workflow development—while also engaging directly with members for telehealth evaluations and medication management.
Responsibilities:
Administrative & Clinical Leadership (30%)
• Support and mentor a growing team of PMHNPs (W-2 and 1099)
• Provide case consultation and clinical decision support
• Review documentation for quality and compliance
• Develop and refine clinical workflows and treatment protocols
• Lead onboarding and training initiatives for psychiatric providers
• Participate in QA processes and clinical leadership meetings
• Enter collaborative agreements where required (cross-licensure support provided)
Clinical Care (70%)
• Conduct initial and follow-up psychiatric telehealth evaluations
• Diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders
• Prescribe medications, including Suboxone for opioid use disorder
• Collaborate with counselors, peers, and case managers as part of the care team
• Document care thoroughly in our EHR (Healthie)
Requirements:
• MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry
• Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
• DEA license with Suboxone prescribing experience
• Comfortable with EHRs, mobile apps, and telehealth care delivery
• Requires HIPAA-compliant private workspace and reliable internet
Preferred Qualification:
• Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain (cost covered by Affect)
• Experience working with or supervising PMHNPs or APPs
• Experience developing clinical training materials
• Experience developing clinical programs, including quality improvement and program design
