100% FULL REMOTE Senior Security Software Engineer - approx ~5-6 month contract role $50-85/hr DOE

The Enterprise Security and Access Management (ESAM) team secures how employees access systems and devices by combining digital access controls with physical device security to reduce risk and strengthen identity assurance. As a Senior Security Software Engineer I, you'll lead initiatives like Trusted Devices and Authentication Restriction, building backend services and IAM solutions that enforce device-based access and authentication policies. You'll work with tools like Jamf, Intune, Okta, GCP, and languages including TypeScript, Python, and PHP to improve access governance and observability. This role requires deep experience in software engineering and security, with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across Security, IT, and Infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement security protocols and solutions to protect sensitive data.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in existing systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security measures into software design and architecture.
• Monitor and analyze security threats and incidents, responding as necessary to mitigate risks.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members on security best practices and tools.
Qualifications
• BSCS required
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on ESAM
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly GCP and AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
