<h1>Business Development Manager - SME, Data Centers &amp; Advanced Manufacturing</h1><p><strong>Department: </strong>Sales</p><p><strong>Employment Type: </strong>Full Time</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>Dallas, TX (remote)</p><br><br><h3>Description</h3><div>ASC Engineered Solutions is actively seeking a <strong>Business Development Manager – Subject Matter Expert (SME)</strong> to lead project pursuit strategies across high-growth segments including data centers and advanced manufacturing. This is a senior, high-impact role focused on influencing specifications, targeting billion-dollar construction opportunities, and building strong relationships with key decision-makers across owners, engineers, and top-tier contractors.</div><div>
<br>The ideal candidate is someone who has deep construction-side experience within these sectors—either as a project manager, sales leader, or engineer—and possesses hands-on knowledge of the products, systems, and workflows required to win and deliver projects in data center and advanced manufacturing environments.</div><br><br><h3>How You Will Help</h3><ul>
<li>Serve as ASC’s internal subject matter expert (SME) on data centers and advanced manufacturing projects.</li>
<li>Lead the pursuit of high-value projects ($500M–$5B+) by engaging owners, engineers, and the top contractors in each sector.</li>
<li>Influence project specifications by identifying key product requirements early in the design cycle and aligning ASC's offering accordingly.</li>
<li>Work closely with engineering firms to position ASC products in master and project specs.</li>
<li>Open doors and provide introductions to targeted customers including:<ul>
<li>
<strong>Data center owners/operators</strong> such as Google, META, Compass Datacenters, Equinix, and QTS.</li>
<li>
<strong>Advanced manufacturing leaders</strong> including Samsung, Intel, and major automotive OEMs.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Build and maintain a real-time pipeline of data center and advanced manufacturing projects with detailed intelligence: timelines, engineers, GCs, product needs, and key decision-makers.</li>
</ul><div><br></div><br><br><h3>What You Will Bring</h3><ul>
<li>
<strong>10+ years</strong> of experience in project management, business development, sales, or engineering within mechanical construction, fire protection, or mission-critical infrastructure.</li>
<li>Proven experience in large-scale<strong> data center or advanced manufacturing</strong> projects (1M+ sq. ft. or $1B+ in value).</li>
<li>Deep understanding of construction processes and MEP and/or Fire systems, with the ability to translate technical requirements into strategic opportunities.</li>
<li>Established relationships within top-tier contractors, engineers, and owners.</li>
<li>Experience with key industry players such as:<ul>
<li>
<strong>Contractors:</strong> Bechtel, Turner, Fluor, Kiewit, Whiting-Turner, Skanska, Clark, PCL, Gilbane, Hensel Phelps, Mortenson, JE Dunn, DPR, McCarthy, Walsh Group.</li>
<li>
<strong>Owners/Developers:</strong> Compass, Equinix, QTS, Intel, Samsung, Meta, AWS, Microsoft.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Strong commercial and technical acumen with a proactive approach to opportunity development.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the types of products used in data center environments (e.g., grooved systems, valves, flexible connections, press fittings, etc.) and how they vary by facility type.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel regionally and nationally to pursue and support major opportunities</li>
