Supervising Physician/Medical Director – Wound Care
Rapidly growing wound care clinic seeking Supervising Physician/Medical Director to provide clinical leadership, oversight, Corporate Practice of Medicine (CPOM) and regulatory compliance for wound care services across various care settings (e.g., home health, in-clinic, rehab and independent/assisted living facilities).). This role includes supervising advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs), ensuring adherence to Texas Medical Board regulations, and guiding the development and implementation of evidence-based wound care protocols. Who we Are – United Wound Care Centers of Rockwall is one of 12 locations nationally focused on Treating Chronic Wounds, Diabetic Ulcers, Pressure Wounds, Slow or Non-Healing Wounds, Venous Ulcers, Surgical Wounds, and more, United Wound Care Centers is the next generation in Wound Care. We utilize an advanced portfolio of skin substitutes that support repair, reconstruction, replacement, or supplementation of the patient's tissue. Aiming to be the alternative to volume Wound Care, we return referral calls within one business day, see our patients within one week of referral, and serve patients with mobility limitations who require in-home care. Our treatments include personalized care with customized product selection, improving quality of life during and after care.

Responsibilities:
Supervision & Oversight:
• Serve as the supervising physician for NPs and PAs providing wound care.
• Maintain and update prescriptive authority agreements as required by Texas law
• Ensure compliance with Texas Medical Board delegation rules and documentation
Clinical Leadership:
• Provide consultation and support to wound care providers on complex cases.
• Review and co-sign medical records and treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Medical Directorship Duties
• Assist in the review and development of wound care protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• PC ownership to comply with CPOM doctrine
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
Patient Care (Optional):
• Perform wound assessments, debridement, and treatment planning.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests when directly involved in care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention and management.
Administrative Duties:
• Attend periodic meetings with clinical teams.
• Maintain licensure in accordance with Texas Medical Board requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, or Dermatology) preferred.
• Experience in wound care or supervising wound care providers is highly desirable
Preferred Skills:
• Strong knowledge of chronic wound management, including pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, and venous stasis ulcers.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and telehealth platforms.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
