About the position

Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is seeking a High School Math Teacher to provide instruction in one or more Math courses to students. This role involves using district-approved resources and instructional methods such as modeling, guided practice, lecturing, and cooperative learning, while ensuring lessons align with Indiana State Math Standards. The position is full-time, lasting 10 months, and reports directly to the Principal. IPS emphasizes the importance of creating a positive classroom environment and supporting students' holistic needs during their educational journey.

Responsibilities
• Provide High School Math instruction that aligns with Indiana State Standards.

• Prepare daily lesson plans to execute within a positive classroom environment.

• Administer frequent formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress.

• Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning.

• Participate in faculty and professional development throughout the school year.

• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.

• Grade papers and maintain grade books.

• Create projects designed to enhance lectures.

• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

• Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

• Develop engagement strategies.

• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

• Licensures in High School Math Grades 5-12 Repa/Repa3.
