About the position

The internship position is located within the Policy Analysis and Development Branch (PADB) of the Financing for Sustainable Development Office (FSDO) at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). The role focuses on supporting research and analysis related to financing for sustainable development, particularly in the context of Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs). This is an unpaid, full-time internship lasting three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months, and offers flexible work arrangements including remote and hybrid options.

Responsibilities
• Conduct research and prepare background papers on financing for sustainable development issues, including INFF implementation.

• Compile statistics and analyze data and information.

• Prepare presentations and data analytics.

• Assist in the planning and organization of workshops, seminars, and other stakeholder meetings.

• Support the preparation of program documents, including reports, briefs, and monitoring the program's budget and expenditures.

Requirements
• Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level).

• Be computer literate in standard software applications.

• Field of study in economics or an economics-related field is desirable.

Nice-to-haves
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required; knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.
