About the position

The Permanency and Youth Services Data Analyst - ANALYST V position is a senior role within the Colorado Department of Human Services, specifically in the Division of Child Welfare. This role is responsible for overseeing performance management and outcome measurement for child welfare services, utilizing advanced data analysis and reporting techniques to support decision-making processes. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the effective management and accessibility of child welfare data, contributing to the overall improvement of services provided to youth and families in Colorado.

Responsibilities
• Lead research activities to meet data analysis and evaluation needs for child welfare programs.

• Design and develop research methodologies and statistical models for data analysis.
,
• Utilize advanced SQL programming and statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) for data extraction and analysis.
,
• Conduct critical data analysis to identify patterns and trends in child welfare data.
,
• Prepare performance metrics and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
,
• Maintain and update the SQL Server database for the Division's data management needs.
,
• Manage the accuracy and validity of child welfare data and reporting.

Requirements
• Eight years of relevant experience in data analysis or a related field.

• Experience with social science research methodology, including descriptive and inferential statistics.
,
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data extraction and analysis.
,
• Knowledge of the Results Oriented Management (ROM) System and experience with Colorado's Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (Trails).

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and reporting tools like Crystal Reports.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience working with Human Services related agencies in the area of Children, Youth and Families.

• Relevant state experience related to child welfare services.
